From 2008-2014 I served as Assistant Professor and the Outreach Librarian at the Francine G. McNairy Library and Learning Forum at Millersville University (PA), where I was responsible for coordinating library marketing communications. I took a personal leave of absence and decided to leave the library to pursue other projects. I am currently a freelance writer, assistant to a textile designer, and provide marketing communications to a local, organic market in Lancaster, PA. I am also co-founder of The Triangle, a volunteer-run literary organization.

My experience as a 2009 ALA Emerging Leader sparked my involvement with professional library associations at both the state and national levels. Since then I have participated on a variety of committees and served in leadership roles. I am most passionate about initiating change and mentoring new information professionals. And of course, writing.

I hold an MA in English-Creative Writing from West Chester University of Pennsylvania (2012), an MS in Library and Information Studies and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Digital Libraries from the Syracuse University iSchool (2008), and a dual-BA in Communication/Journalism & English from St. John Fisher College (2006).

You can learn more about me at http://erindorney.com. I’m always up for a collaboration or two or six.
