Jake is a PhD candidate in the Department of History at the University of Chicago. He has received various grants, including the Berlin Program Fellowship, to conduct research on the spatial aspects and emotional geographies of urban activism in West Germany. He is currently writing his dissertation on squatting and urban romanticism in late 20th Century Europe.
